Mark Your Calendars - 16th Street Church Hot Donut Fundraiser

Stop by the Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market this Saturday, October 10, to support the 16th Street Church donut fundraiser! As the 2015 BILD Conference approaches, all of our churches are considering how they can financially contribute. A few weeks ago, 16th Street Church set a goal to raise $5,000 together. As they discussed how to do this, one of their members suggested having an old-fashioned bake sale. The church loved this idea and decided to take it a step further by turning it into a fresh, hot donut sale.
They picked the Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market as their venue. “We love to be out in the community, especially in the Farmers’ Market where the atmosphere lends itself well to meeting people and their families. It was quickly decided to use this venue as a bake sale site, especially as the date coincided with Side Car Rallye’s next date to play at Farmers’ Market, a band that several people from our church network are part of.”
16th Street Church spent last Sunday evening perfecting (and tasting) their donut-making skills. “We’re planning on having a variety of flavored glazes or dipping sauces available to serve with our donuts, and are even working on perfecting a gluten-free donut batter! Other baked items will likely be available for purchase as well—muffins, breads, and the like. We can be found near where Side Car Rallye will be playing.”
